Telomere & Genome Stability
Quantitative Biology
Our group is interested in the molecular bases of the cellular response to DNA damage and telomere dysfunction in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. We investigate the molecular underpinnings of these processes and aim at characterizing their cell-to-cell variations and functional consequences for genome stability. To do so, we use interdisciplinary approaches combining molecular biology, genetics, genomics, bioinformatics and mathematical modeling.
Specific topics covered by our research include:
– Role of telomeric factors in DNA repair
– Adaptation and molecular response to telomere dysfunction
– Dynamics of replicative senescence in the absence of telomerase
– Characterization of telomere length distribution using long-read Nanopore sequencing
– Mathematical modeling of telomere length regulation
